Pulled to earth from an unknown planet by a scientist's experimental Teleportation beam, Phantasma arrived on Earth. The scientist tried to return Phantasma home, but he was too slow to Phantasma's attacks, allowing him to be killed. Phantasma was captured by S.H.E.I.L.D but escaped while they were running some tests and rounded up other aliens and formed the H.E.F (Hero Extermination Force).
