Harry Osborn is the son of the CEO of Oscorp Industries Norman Osborn and best friend of Peter Parker. After the death of his father, Harry took over Oscorp's leadership and held a grudge against Spider-Man, whom he believed was the one responsible for his murder before learning it was Peter underneath the mask. With the knowledge of Peter's identity as Spider-Man, Harry took the Goblin Serum, obtaining his father's strength and creating his own glider and armor. Going under the name New Goblin, Osborn attempted to destroy Parker's life before learning the truth behind his father's death and making amends with Parker, sacrificing his life to save him and Mary Jane Watson. However, due to Doctor Strange's corrupted spell, Harry ends up being among the individuals brought back to life and transported through the Multiverse.

Felicia Hardy is a notorious cat burglar who operates under the name Black Cat. First crossing paths with Spider-Man while he was stopping an art museum robbery, Hardy attempted to persuade Parker to give up his civilian life, but soon became entangled in the his web, discovering his civilian identity and forming a temporary romantic relationship with him before Parker decided to repair his relationship with Mary Jane Watson. She had also aided Spider-Man in fighting the Vulture, who was a scientist desperate to save the life of his dying wife. One day, while contemplating about her relationship with Parker, she finds herself pulled into an alternate realty through Doctor Strange's corrupted spell due to her knowledge of Peter's identity as Spider-Man. Setting on a journey to find Parker, she encounters Harry Osborn, who also ended up being transported to this reality and is now on a quest to locate Peter and his father.
